Burger King’s New Commercial: The Talk of the Internet

Burger King is back with a new commercial that has everyone talking. The commercial, which aired during the NBA Finals, features a talkative AI burger that discusses the menu options with a customer. While some people found the ad funny and clever, others are concerned about how this technology will be used in the future.

In the new Burger King commercial, a family is driving home from a weekend getaway and they get pulled over by the police. The father gets out of the car to explain that they were just driving through town and didn't do anything wrong, but the officer isn't having it.

In retaliation, the father pulls out his Burger King meal and starts eating it in front of the officer. The ad quickly goes viral, with people talking about everything from its clever humor to its political undertones.

The commercial is actually based on a real-life incident that happened in Georgia back in 2013. In that case, two young brothers were pulled over for not having a license plate on their car and one of them had an uneaten Burger King meal in his hand. The brothers were eventually charged with disorderly conduct, but their lawyer was able to have the charges dropped because the meal was legal in Georgia at the time (the state has since changed its laws).

So why did Burger King decide to use this particular story as their inspiration for their latest ad? Well, according to brand spokesperson Julie Janssen, "the talk of social media" at the moment is police brutality and race relations in America. She added that "the idea behind this ad is that sometimes small things can set off big reactions."

While some people are calling the commercial racist, others are applauding it for its honest examination of society's problems. Either way, it's sure to be another hit with Burger King fans.
